Can Justin Bieber Be Deported?
January 28, 2014
It seems that every other day, pop star Justin Bieber is facing serious legal troubles. Last week, Bieber was arrested after leaving a Miami club, accused of drag racing through a residential neighborhood in a yellow Lamborghini while under the influence. Although not charged as of the date of this post, Bieber is also being investigated for possible involvement in an "Egging" incident which could result in a felony charge of vandalism if he is implicated. Bieber, a Canadian citizen, is currently in the United States on an O-1 visa, reserved for those who demonstrate "extraordinary ability in the sciences, arts, education, business or athletics". If Bieber continues to find himself in trouble with the law, there is a possibility that Immigration and Customs Enforcement could review his legal status. During the pendency of his current legal issues, Bieber might just want to lay low and off the radar of the immigration authorities. It certainly doesn't help that there is a circulating petition(s) requesting that President Obama deport the pop star for his recent behavior.
